Growing up in Australia, Geoff began learning Japanese in 1972 and attended graduate school in Tokyo in 1981-82. After working in business development and management consulting in Tokyo in the mid-1980's, he moved to the San Francisco Bay Area in 1987 to pursue an MBA at Stanford Graduate School of Business. From 1989 to 2004 Geoff worked at Booz-Allen & Hamilton, Pilkington Visioncare and Guidant Corporation based in the San Francisco Bay Area. At Pilkington and Guidant he managed sales & marketing in Japan, Asia-Pacific & Australia/NZ for a variety of visioncare, surgical and endovascular products, and at Guidant he also served in business development and with a product development group working on peripheral and neurovascular products. After returning to Japan in 2005, Geoff served as Marketing Director for the Cordis Cardiology Div. of Johnson & Johnson which had just launched the revolutionary Cypher Drug Eluting Coronary Stent, as Head of Sales for the Fuji Respironics Div. of Philips, and as President (Japan) for Abbott Vascular. Since 2010 Geoff has been working to help both domestic and foreign companies develop and implement regulatory and business strategies in the Japanese healthcare market. |
